Pingguo Mineral resumes production
BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Feb 09 – Although brown fused Alumina market remains inactive in China and most of the smelters are still in suspension, Pingguo Mineral Company resumed production early this month.
Guangxi Pingguo Mineral Company resumed production on February 6th, rightly after the Spring Festival. The smelter has six furnaces with 3,500KVA each. Owning a capacity of 5,000t of brown fused Alumina per month, the source is just running with an output of 70t of the material per day. “The demand from buyers is slow now, and I do not believe it will pick up in this quarter,” said a high official from the company.
The source reveals that they are selling grain sands at RMB3,800/t (USD555/t) ex works and segment sands at RMB3,500/t (USD512/t) ex works.
Guangxi Pingguo Mineral Company exports 60% of their materials to overseas market, mainly to Southeast Asian countries and 40% of their materials are sold domestically.
